St. Gabriel Athletic Association (SGAA)

The St. Gabriel Athletic Association (SGAA) provides basketball programs for youth of our parish. Seasonal registration is advertised in the parish bulletin and through St. Gabriel School.   Registration forms and dates are posted on this webpage when registration is open. 

SGAA will once again be participating in both the Interfaith Basketball League for both boys and girls grades 3-8 and CYO Basketball for boys and girls grades 9-12.

Registration Dates and Fees - NO LATE REGISTRATIONS

Grades 3-8 IFBL (Interfaith Basketball League)
Registration opens October 1 and CLOSES OCTOBER 31
Cost:  $145 per player

Grades 9-12 CYO (Catholic Youth Organization)
Registration opens October 1 and CLOSES NOVEMBER 7  

Skill Assessments at St. Gabriel for Grades 3-8
All registered players will need to come to a skills assessment, held at the gym at St. Gabriel school.

  • 3rd grade boys and girls:  Monday, November 4  6:00 - 7:00
  • 6th grade boys and girls: Monday, November 4  7:00 - 8:00
  • 4th grade boys and girls: Tuesday, November 5  6:00- 7:00
  • 7th grade boys and 7th & 8th grade girls: Tuesday, November 5  7:00 - 8:00
  • 5th grade boys and girls: Wednesday, November 6  6:00 - 7:00
  • 8th grade boys: Wednesday, November 6  7:00-  8:00

Important  Information

  • All students must be registered parishioners.
  • Grades 3 - 12 teams practice in the St. Gabriel School gym with games at local Catholic schools on Saturdays.
  • If your child is going to try-out for a school team, go ahead and register them to play at St. Gabriel.  If they make their school team, you may request a full refund.  No late registrations will be taken!  If they are not registered and they do not make a school team, they will not be able to play SGAA basketball this season.
  • Games begin the 1st and 2nd weekends in December.
  • All coaches must complete all Diocesan required SAFE Environment paperwork and have taken Protecting God's Children.  Find information on SAFE-Environment requirements here.
